As a photographer, many times we need a specific lens a handful of times, yet not often enough to justify spending the money needed to purchased said lens. The beautiful, dreamy Canon 70-200mm 2.8 is that lens for me. I absolutely LOVE the look of the images that this lens produces, but I just do not use it enough to make sense of the price tag. This is where a lens rental service comes in handy :).
I have used a few companies for lens rentals in the past, one of which I had a terrible experience with, and one local company with which I have had great experience. However, I was eager to try out ATS Rentals (website here) to rent my dream 70-200mm lens for a few sessions that I had a few weeks ago. The prices are fair and the customer service is amazing.
I was so excited when the box arrived at my door (and bonus points for not requiring in-person signature for delivery!!!!!). I was even more excited when I opened the box to find everything that I could ever need when renting and returning a lens, as well as some jelly bean treats! The box included not only my lens and significant padding for mailing security, but it also included box tape to use when returning the lens, a pre-paid return shipping label, and a list of local drop-off places that are closest to my home. They literally made it as easy as possible to return the lens with minimal work on my end.
The lens worked great, and a few of the resulting images are below. I’m already planning on renting a Sigma Art 35mm 1.4 from ATS for our trip to Disney next month!
